Vegetarians
need to carefully examine the ingredients of the various nutritional
supplements to make sure they don't contain any of the ingredients
that are on their food list. For example many meal replacement
powders use a combination of soy and milk proteins. Also there
are many vitamin supplements that do not contain animal products.
Some supplements normally found in abundance in red meat may
be OK for vegetarians to use since these supplements are synthesized
and as such don't contain any animal products. An example of
this would be creatine monohydrate although you'll have to make
sure that the creatine mixes don't contain any animal products.
Many of the reputable supplement companies will indicate that
their supplements are acceptable for vegetarians. The APTNutrition
line of supplements are formulated with vegetarians in mind.
Almost all of our supplements are suitable for ovo-lacto vegetarians
and half of them, including MVM, our multiple vitamin and mineral supplement,
Creatine Advantage, Amino, Antiox,
Thermo, TestoBoost,
Regulate,
Metabolic and Resolve are suitable for vegans.
We will be exploring in depth the different types of supplements
and what ingredients that vegetarians should keep an eye out
for when reading labels. |
